| Job Description:This position requires the ability to utilize meteorological data to forecast changes in atmospheric weather conditions for analyzing and reporting. Prepares data for briefing aircrews and command staff regarding current or predicted environmental conditions/changes; issues advisories/warnings. Monitors and interprets RADAR/METSAT, and augment an FMQ-19 to disseminate weather observations.Note: This position will be temporary in nature. Located at Homestead Air Reserve Base Florida (20 miles South of Miami). The Weather Station operates 24/7/365. Night/Sunday differentials apply. Experience must be current, i.e., within last five years. |
| Required Job Qualifications: HS Diploma or EquivalentTwo Years Military Aviation Forecasting/Observing ExperienceOne Year Experience using weather processing/dissemination system, e.g. Air Force N-TFS; Navy MIDDS or National Weather Service AWIPSOne Year Experience Operation and Interpretation on NEXRAD/OPUP
Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire) Ability to secure a National Agency Check (NAC) |
| Desired Job Qualifications: Prior enlisted military from Weather career filedCompletion of a DOD approved Observer and Forecaster course; Possession of NAC |
