Job Description: The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. The work will involve a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.In addition to the types of work listed above some examples of work at these locations would include: assisting with custodial work, parts and material storage and inventory, equipment operational status checks, and other general work assignments.
Required Job Qualifications: HS Diploma or Equivalent. Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Desired Job Qualifications: Three to five years in general maintenance trades in an industrial setting is preferred. Familiarity with HVAC systems a plus.
